Borgo di Fonni is
situated in one of the most beautiful parts of Umbria and consists
of a number of apartments which have recently been redeveloped.
Outside the apartments is a terrace where the guests can sit
among beautiful flowers and plants and enjoy the use of a barbecue
where they can cook lamb, pork and veal from the local area.
In the woods around the house the guests are able to freely
pick mushrooms, blackberries, junipers and other fruits of the
forest. Guests are also able to help out on the farm and at
various times of the year the smells of the hay (May) or the
harvested grain (Ocotber) make it a wonderful place to stay.
Apart from enjoying the local wildlife there are plenty of places
of interest to visit like Norcia and Cascia and throughout the
year there are numerous festivals where local delicacies can
be tried. It is also possible to buy some of these (cheeses,
lentils, potatoes, salami, ham) directly from the borgo.
